Cacao, known in Mayan culture as "Maka," is considered a sacred food and a healing plant capable of opening the heart and nourishing the soul. In traditional Maya ceremonies, drinking cacao is not just a physical experience but a moment of deep connection—to the earth, to our roots, and to the emotional depths within us. With its powerful antioxidants, amino acids, and iron, cacao strengthens the body and calms the nervous system, providing a sense of relaxation and release from tension, preparing our hearts for a meeting with ourselves.
